Bobby Zamora has joined Albion’s coaching team as a striker consultant, focusing on developing the club’s forwards as part of Fabian Hürzeler’s backroom staff.
Now in his third stint with Brighton, Zamora continues his role as club ambassador while working with attacking players at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre. He’ll combine these responsibilities to help boost Albion’s offensive capabilities.
Zamora expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled to be back, supporting the club and the strikers to reach their goals by working on all aspects of the game, both on and off the pitch. It’s a fantastic environment, and I hope to contribute to the club’s continued success.”
Brighton’s technical director, David Weir, added, “Bobby brings invaluable experience from a remarkable playing career. He’s working with our attackers twice a week, focusing on the clinical skills he displayed so well during his career. Brighton fans know his sharpness in the penalty area, and we believe he can help our players develop that instinct.”
Zamora first joined Brighton on loan from Bristol Rovers in February 2000, quickly making an impact with six goals in six matches. This prompted Albion to make the move permanent for £100,000, and he went on to score over 30 goals in two consecutive championship-winning seasons. Following his success, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2003 and later played for West Ham United, Fulham, and Queens Park Rangers before returning to Brighton in 2015 for his final season. Zamora also earned two caps for England.
